Chart At A Glance

  • After over 3 months with zero movement inside my Top 5, we finally have a shakeup up there, and a major one at that!
  • Lindsey Stirling pulls off a few more records this week, becoming the first artist to replace herself at #1 with a #1 debut! At the same time, she becomes the first to make the odd jump from my Top 20 Lifesongs chart to my Top 50, since one of her songs charting there, “My Immortal”, finally saw an official video and digital single release this past week. With that, the song effortlessly leaps to #1 here, giving her her fourth #1 on my Top 50 already.
  • Evanescence had a Top 5 hit with their original radio release of “My Immortal” back in 2004 and early 2005, peaking at #4 and staying at #5 for a long 30 weeks. Lindsey’s version already trumps those peak stats, but how it’ll fare, will still be quite interesting. Evanescence’s version also replaces Lindsey’s version on my Lifesongs chart, due to her debut here, meaning for the first time, a version of the same song is charting on both charts simultaneously.
  • Lindsey becomes the first artist to hold my Top 3 spots at the same time, as “Song Of The Caged Bird” and “Crystallize” continue doing very well.
  • She now has 4 songs inside my Top 10 once again, and 7 inside my Top 25—almost a third of my Top 25!
  • Finally, even with the #1 debut displacing a bunch of other songs, “Elements” jumps from #8 to #6, following her live orchestral performance with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir over the weekend. That is the version now charting.
  • In other chart news, Fiction Family climbs into my Top 25 with “Up Against The Wall”, up 2 to #24, and songs by Jonathan Thulin, RED, and Wavorly see slight increases in rank, but overall, action is fairly insignificant below my Top 25.
  • There is 1 other debut at #49, however; Skillet is looking to make more noise on my chart with “American Noise”.
  • With the loss of Britt Nicole’s “Gold” and Annie Moses Band’s “Blush”, the average age of the Top 50 songs actually takes a slight hit this time; it’s off .14 weeks to 63.26 weeks.

For visual browsers only, Bullets (e.g., ▲ and ▼) appear on songs seeing a gain or loss of interest, regardless of movement. Upward bullets show gains—white for slight gains, aqua for high, and gold for very high. Downward bullets show losses—grey for slight losses, purple for high, and black for very high. “Jump Of The Week” and “Fall Of The Week”, when present, indicate songs with the biggest change in interest. Finally, songs below #50 become recurrents after 25+ weeks charting, or after 40+ weeks if they never peaked above #26. For more details, see my chart methodology.
