Chart At A Glance

  • A Christmas song continues holding on at #1…even in the middle of January. Lindsey Stirling’s “What Child Is This” still does not move at all, even as my interest in it is naturally waning after Christmas.
  • The rest of my Top 5 does not move, either. However, there is some movement to be seen throughout the rest of the chart, starting in the bottom half of my Top 10.
  • Last year’s first ever urban #1 on my chart, The Washington Projects’ “Time”, rebounds slightly to #8, after experiencing a downward trend in the past several weeks. Apparently, the song still has plenty of time left on my chart (haha).
  • In other news, Lindsey Stirling becomes the first artist in a long time, to have 3 songs inside my Top 10, as “Crystallize” inches up to #10. Casting Crowns was the previous (as well as first) artist to accomplish that way back in mid-2008 (Chart #233 and #234), with classic songs “Does Anybody Hear Her”, “Who Am I”, and “East To West”.
  • Matthew West’s “Forgiveness” has been overall slow to rise—in its twenty-first week of charting now, it reaches a new peak of #16. Further down, stubborn song “The Motions” just will not fall off. In fact, it’s back up a few spots to #26.
  • Rounding out the rest of the chart are 2 debuts. Hawk Nelson scores the first one at #30 with new single, “Words”, featuring Bart Millard. It’s their highest debut and even highest peak to date, as previous chart entries never peaked above #45 nor stayed on more than a few weeks.
  • BarlowGirl has the week’s other debut at #47, with their final single, “Hope Will Lead Us On”.
  • Speaking of final singles, downhere’s final charting single, “Living The Dream” slides down to #46, likely on its way out. And one song sure does make its way out—Skillet’s “One Day Too Late” slips off the bottom, just a little shy of 65 weeks and therefore just missing entry into my Hall Of Fame.

For visual browsers only, Bullets (e.g., ▲ and ▼) appear on songs seeing a gain or loss of interest, regardless of movement. Upward bullets show gains—white for slight gains, aqua for high, and gold for very high. Downward bullets show losses—grey for slight losses, purple for high, and black for very high. “Jump Of The Week” and “Fall Of The Week”, when present, indicate songs with the biggest change in interest. Finally, songs below #50 become recurrents after 25+ weeks charting, or after 40+ weeks if they never peaked above #26. For more details, see my chart methodology.
